FlosForge Steps for Android

Private Step Counter & Pedometer for Android

Counts your steps with the phone’s own low-power step sensor — no GPS, no location. Follow the day hour by hour, fill a calendar ring by ring, and look back by week, month and year. Add the steps from a walk without your phone, and keep all of it on the device.

  • No internet permission
  • No GPS, no location
  • Home-screen widget

  • No AI

Every chart, score and insight is plain arithmetic over your own entries, worked out on the phone. Nothing you log is sent to a model, and there is none built in.

  • No telemetry

No analytics, no crash reports, no ads and no account. There is no FlosForge server for the app to report to, and no internet permission to reach one with.

  • Your data stays on the phone

Kept in the app’s private storage and left out of cloud backups. It leaves the phone only as a file you choose to export.

Daily activity rings and hourly pacing

A ring fills toward your goal, with distance, active time and how far there is to go. Below it, the day hour by hour and your last seven days. Pull down and the counter is read at once.

  • Daily goal from 500 to 100,000 steps, with the history of past goals kept
  • Distance from your stride length, in kilometres or miles
  • An optional split into morning, afternoon, evening and night, on your own hours
  • A resizable widget, from a slim bar to a full chart

Calendar overview and long-term trends

Every day of the month is its own ring, solid when the goal was met. Tap one for its hours, its peak and how close it came. Statistics page back by week, month and year, with your weekday pattern and all-time records.

  • Daily average, goals met, totals and best day for any period
  • Current and longest streak, lifetime steps and distance
  • Average by weekday, and by month across the year
  • Why goals were missed, from the reasons you gave

Manual activity entry and Health Connect sync

Walked with a watch, or left the phone on the desk? Add an activity by hand, or import steps from Health Connect. Where they overlap with the phone’s own count, each hour takes the higher figure, so nothing is counted twice.

  • Activities with a start, a duration, steps and a measured distance
  • Health Connect import, read-only and off by default
  • Works on phones without a step sensor, from added activities and Health Connect
  • Backup to a file and restore it on another phone

Mindful, customizable evening check-ins

Turn on the evening reminder and, if you are under 90% of your goal, the app asks whether you will make it. Answer from the notification — or say not today, and why. Over time it shows how often you kept your word.

  • Off by default, at the time you choose
  • Reasons such as busy day, bad weather, tired or travelling, or your own
  • Silent once you have answered for the day
  • Seventeen languages, chosen per app

What to expect from the count

A step counter built on the phone’s own sensor has a few honest limits:

  • The first reading after installing only sets a starting point, so steps from earlier that day are not counted.
  • Steps between the last reading and a restart of the phone are lost; periodic checks every thirty minutes keep that window small.
  • Distance and active time are estimates from your stride and a typical walking pace, not measurements.
  • It is a pedometer, not a fitness or medical device.

Questions about FlosForge Steps

Does it use GPS or drain the battery?

No GPS and no location at all. Steps come from the phone’s built-in step counter, a low-power chip that counts on its own; the app reads it when you open it and about every thirty minutes, which you can turn off.

Can I add steps from my smartwatch?

Yes, two ways: add an activity by hand, or import steps from Health Connect. Where they overlap with the phone’s count, each hour takes the higher figure, so nothing is counted twice.

Does it have a home-screen widget?

Yes, a resizable one — from a slim progress bar up to a ring with your last seven days and today’s hourly chart.

What if my phone has no step sensor?

The app still installs and works from the activities you add and from Health Connect.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and no internet permission; your history stays on the phone, and you can back it up to a file yourself.

Which phones does it run on?

Android 8.0 and later, in English and 16 other languages.
