FlosForge Glucose for Android

Private blood sugar logbook and glucose tracker for Android

Log readings from your meter with the context that makes them mean something — fasting, after a meal, after a walk. The app works out your average, time in range and estimated A1c on the phone, spots patterns, and makes a PDF for your appointment. Nothing is ever uploaded.

  • No internet permission
  • Readings and photos encrypted
  • PDF for your doctor

  • No AI

Every chart, score and insight is plain arithmetic over your own entries, worked out on the phone. Nothing you log is sent to a model, and there is none built in.

  • No telemetry

No analytics, no crash reports, no ads and no account. There is no FlosForge server for the app to report to, and no internet permission to reach one with.

  • Your data stays on the phone

Kept in the app’s private storage and left out of cloud backups. It leaves the phone only as a file you choose to export.

A reading takes seconds, and keeps its context

A large keypad, the unit your meter uses, and a live chip that says where the number falls before you save it. Add when it was taken, what you ate, carbs, insulin, a tag or a note, and a photo of the meal if you want one.

  • Fasting, before and after a meal, bedtime, night and exercise — pre-chosen from the time of day
  • Tags such as workout, walk after meal, stress, poor sleep and coffee, and your own
  • Meal photos downscaled, stripped of location and stored encrypted
  • A reminder to check again after the meal, when you log before one

The numbers your care team uses

Average and its spread, time in range across five bands, variability, and GMI with an estimated A1c — each judged against the target for the context of that reading, and marked low-confidence until there is enough data to mean something.

  • Periods of 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, compared with the one before
  • A typical day: median and spread for every two hours
  • Averages by context and by tag, so you see what your walks do
  • A1c as a percentage, in mmol/mol, or both

Patterns, without a cloud

Rule-based insights run on the phone over your own log: night-time lows, frequent lows or spikes, a high fasting average, post-meal readings over target, the tags that raise or help you, and when logging has gone sparse.

  • Target presets for diabetes, pre-diabetes, pregnancy, non-diabetic and tight metabolic health
  • Six thresholds you can adjust, with a preview of how readings will be classed
  • Recurring check reminders by day and time
  • Home-screen widget with your latest reading and a 7-day summary

A report you hand over, not an account you share

Pick a period and the app draws a PDF on the phone — statistics, charts and your readings — and saves it where you choose. Export CSV, or make a password-protected backup to move to a new phone.

  • Your name on the report, only if you add it
  • Encrypted backups, restored by merging into what is already there
  • Optional two-way sync with Health Connect, off by default
  • App lock with PIN and fingerprint, which also hides the widget’s values

What FlosForge Glucose is not

The app asks you to accept this before your first reading, and it belongs here too:

  • A personal logbook, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it never recommends an insulin dose.
  • Readings are the ones you type in from your own meter. It does not connect to a meter or a sensor.
  • GMI and estimated A1c are calculated from your average and do not replace a laboratory HbA1c.
  • Targets are personal. Agree yours with your healthcare provider, especially in pregnancy or when using insulin.
  • Seek urgent help for a very low or very high reading with symptoms — the app is not an alarm and will not raise one.

Questions about FlosForge Glucose

Does it connect to my glucose meter or CGM?

No. You type in the reading from your own meter, which takes a few seconds on the large keypad. If another app already writes glucose readings to Health Connect, FlosForge Glucose can import them from there.

Does it support mg/dL and mmol/L?

Yes. You pick your meter’s unit when you first open the app and can change it later; everything, including the PDF report, follows it.

Can I share my readings with my doctor?

Yes. The app makes a PDF report for the period you choose — statistics, charts and your readings — on the phone, and you save or share it yourself. A CSV export is there too.

Where are my readings stored?

Only on your phone, in an encrypted database, and meal photos are encrypted too. The app has no internet permission and its data is excluded from cloud backups. To move to a new phone, use its password-protected backup file.

Does it calculate A1c?

It estimates it. GMI and an estimated A1c are calculated from your average glucose and marked low-confidence until you have at least 14 days and 28 readings. They do not replace a laboratory HbA1c.

Which phones does it run on?

Android 10 and later, in English and 19 other languages.

How every FlosForge app works

  • No telemetry

No analytics, no crash reporting, no usage pings. Not configurable — simply absent.

  • Local storage only

Your data stays on your own device, stored in private application sandboxes under your control.

  • Open exports

Everything exports to standard formats you own (CSV, GPX, JSON, Markdown), with zero lock-in.
