Caller 0.2.0 chains requests into flows, and installs on any computer
Caller 0.2.0 comes as a ready-made app for macOS, Windows and Linux, on Intel and ARM, and adds flows, captures, a variables panel and proxy support. Here is which file to pick.
The app
FlosForge Callerfor macOS, Windows and LinuxA local-first HTTP API client that opens the collections you already have. No account, no cloud sync.
FlosForge Caller no longer needs Node.js and a build step to try. Version 0.2.0 is on the GitHub Releases page as a ready-made app for macOS, Windows and Linux, on Intel and AMD as well as ARM.
Which file to pick
- macOS: the
.dmgfor your Mac, arm64 for Apple silicon or x64 for Intel. A.zipis there too if you prefer it. - Windows: the
setup.exeinstaller, or theportable.exeif you would rather not install anything, in x64 or arm64. - Linux: the AppImage, or the
.deb(Debian, Ubuntu) or.rpm(Fedora, openSUSE) for your package manager, in x86_64 or arm64.
The first time you open it
The builds are not signed with a paid certificate, so macOS and Windows will ask you to confirm once. On a Mac, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On Windows, choose More info, then Run anyway. On Linux, make the AppImage executable before you run it.
That is the operating system being careful with an app it does not know yet, not a sign that anything was found in it. The full source is on GitHub if you want to see exactly what you are running, and SHA256SUMS on the release page has a checksum for every file.
What is new in 0.2.0
- Flows: chain saved requests into one run. Log in, create an order, poll until it is paid, check the receipt, with each step’s captures passed on to the next.
- Captures: pull a token, a header, a cookie or the status code out of a response into a variable, without writing a script.
- A variables panel: every variable in one table, the ones used but never defined flagged, and a rename that reaches every request.
- Proxies and certificates: your system proxy by default, your own if you need it, extra CA certificates and client certificates per host.
The Caller page has the full setup steps, and the changelog lists everything in 0.2.0, fixes included.
